1968 AL Game: Lolich Wins 10th

June 4, 1968

  Detroit's Mickey Lolich became the 1st player in the AL to Win 10 games this season when he went the distance in the Tiger's 6-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox today. Lolich improved his record to 10-1 and carries a fine 1.88 ERA. Mickey helped his own cause in the game by getting 2 hits and scoring twice.

Mickey Lolich went the distance at Fenway Park as the Detroit Tigers beat the
Boston Red Sox by the count of 6 to 3.
 
Detroit set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring a single run.
After an out was recorded, Mickey Stanley providing the offense himself as he
belted a solo home run.  Detroit managed 11 hits in their victory.
 
Lolich(10-1), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. The loss
was charged to Gary Bell(2-5).  He was unable to control the Detroit offense
and allowed 11 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
