Halfway through he month of June in the 1968 NL season. Lots of excellent pitching going on in the league. Many starters have ERA's below 2.00. The best of the lot has been St. Louis Cardinal Bob Gibson who continues to dominate. He's 12-2 with a 1.44 ERA and leads the NL in K's. Pittsburgh's Maury Wills surprisingly continues to lead the NL in hitting with Cincinnati's Tommy Helms only 1% point in back of him.
