One run was the difference at Oakland Coliseum as the Oakland A's defeated the
Detroit Tigers 5 to 4.
Paul Lindblad(5-3) earned the victory with a fine relief performance. He did
not allow a hit or a walk in his 1/3 of an inning. Jack Aker was perfect in
the ninth giving him his 10th save on the season.
Fred Lasher(1-3) was given the loss in relief. The Oakland ballclub's record
now stands at 40-48. With this loss, Detroit has a 6-4 record of late, 67-22
overall.
