Dick Allen hit for the cycle and had 5 RBI and Rick Wise had a complete game
as the Philadelphia Phillies destroyed the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 12
to 1 at Shibe Park.

Allen enjoyed a great evening at the plate. He tripled resulting in a run in
the 1st inning, delivered a single in the 4th inning, doubled in the 5th
inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 7th inning and tripled bringing in two
baserunners in the 8th inning. The Philadelphia offense man-handled the
Cincinnati pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.

Wise(9-8), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Tony
Cloninger(6-5) was given the loss. He couldn't find the plate, issuing 10
walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

'Some days it just all comes together, and this was one of them' Allen said.
'I've been seeing the ball pretty well lately.'
