1968 AL Game: Cal. @ Det.

July 1, 1968

Detroit's Mickey Lolich got his AL leading 14th Win of the season tonight as he and the Tigers shutout the California Angels 7-0.  Willie Horton provided the big hits in Detroit's 13 hit attack with 2 homeruns and 3 RBI. But it was Lolich, who is establishing himself as the top pitcher in the AL, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 10 that was the story of the game. Mickey is now 14-1 with a 1.95 ERA.
In another note to the game: Al Kaline returned to the Detroit lineup after missing over a month of the season. Kaline played 1st base and went 1 for 4 with 1 RBI in the game.
