Mickey Lolich struck out 11 batters at Anaheim Stadium where the very talented
Detroit Tigers beat the California Angels by the score of 5 to
0.

Lolich(16-2) was virtually untouchable. He allowed just 5 hits and 2 walks in
9 innings. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 3rd inning with no runs
scored after that point.

George Brunet(9-6) was tagged with the loss. 'Everything felt great' Lolich
said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'
