Denny McLain had one of his finer outings tonight in Minnesota as his Detroit Tigers defeated the Twins 3-1. McLain went the distance for Detroit striking out 13, a season high, and not allowing an earned run. Willie Horton supplied the muscle for the Tigers by hitting a 2-run homer in the 6th inning breaking a 1-1 tie.
