1968 Detroit Game: Denny McLain Start #30

August 12, 1968

Denny McLain pitched a fine game tonight against the Cleveland Indians, and he had to. Cleveland starter Vicente Romo may have pitched an even finer game. McLain went the distance for Detroit allowing 6 hits and 1 unearned run as the Tigers defeated the Indians 2-1. Romo allowed only 4 hits, but 2 runs, 1 of which was unearned. McLain now has 19 Wins with 11 starts left in the season. If he is to get to 30 Wins, he'll have to win all his remaining starts.
