Mickey Lolich mowed down 11 Oakland batters at Oakland Coliseum where the very
potent Detroit Tigers beat the Oakland A's 4 to 1.

Lolich(20-4) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Oakland offense. He
allowed just 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Detroit managed 9 hits in their
victory.

Jim Nash(12-11) took the loss. 'Everything felt great' Lolich said. 'I had a
good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody today.'
