1968 NL Game: LA @ Hous.

May 24, 1968

The longest game of the 1968 NL season was played tonight in Houston and the LA Dodgers ended up defeating the Astros in 16 innings 1-0. Denny Lemaster started for Houston and pitched 11 scoreless innings. Don Sutton threw 8 scoreless innings for LA. Both teams have had trouble scoring runs this season and tonight's game was a great example of the ballclubs' inabilities at the plate. On the other hand, for those fans that love low scoring pitching duels, this game couldn't get any better. LA did have 11 hits during the game, but Houston could mange only 6.
