1968 NL Standings and League Leaders

September 18, 1968

The St. Louis Cardinals hold a slim 2 game lead over the Cincinnati Reds in the race for the NL Pennant. The Cardinals have 9 games left in the regular season while the Reds have 11. San Francisco and Los Angeles haven't been eliminated yet, but it's very doubtful they can make up the ground between them and the NL leaders.
4 of the top 5 spots for the batting title are held by Cincinnati Red players. Tommy Helms leads but is out for the rest of the regular season, so we'll see if he has enough at-bats to meet the league minimum at season's end.
